Collettes Cards

Hi Papercrafters Today I have a lovely gold and white birthday card for that special friend. What can go wrong with beautiful papers, a pallette of gold and white and some lovely textural elements! I started by creating a 4" x 6" closed card base, and then used the new frame " Loving Flourishes Frame Die" by Ultimate Crafts. Once the frame was stuck down, I played with lots of beautiful textural elements! I added some multi coils of twine and some of the gorgeous 2mm adhesive pearls to form part of a circle. Next I wrapped some of the new paper 'Special Occasions' "Gold Damask Foil', (the photos do not do the foiling justice, it is truly beautiful!), around a fine pencil, taped the ends together and attached them to the card; three coils, different lengths. I decided to do a mixed media background, they are fun to do, a wee bit messy and the good news is you don’t make any mistakes – anything goes! I die cut the wonderful ‘Mixed Media Circles’ Die (DD786), and popped it down on a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of white card. I used a palette knife to spread some texture paste on top. I then removed the die cut, (popped it aside for another project!), and waited for my texture paste to dry, (you could use a heat gun, but I had dinner to organise!). Once dry, I gently rubbed some Kaisercraft stamp pads on the design and  random stamped some words so they blended into the background. I then splattered with Kaisercraft paint – it got everywhere  but was surprisingly therapeutic lol!! At this stage I loved how it looked and stopped the messy stuff and assembled the card with papers and collectables from ‘High Tide’. I love the new Mini Foliage Die (DD374). Apart from having so many beautiful leaf and stem shapes, I get to cut lots out in one pass! They are perfect for the floral clusters!    DD374 TIP: To create smaller flowers or rose buds, simply peel away individual petals!
