Christmas Cheer

Image
I have enjoyed playing with some of the new release dies this month, they can add so much to a layout! With the ‘Holly Circle’ die,  I sprayed my die cut and sprinkled on some glitter, fixing it with a fixative spray so the glitter stayed on the page and not me! I have used the Poinsettia die soooooooooo much!!! I love to curl the petals back with a skewer and layer them with foam tape atop each other, three layers looks fab! I love to glitter these too – after all, it’s Christmassy! Did you know you can cut two poinsettias at a time and don’t forget to use Kaisercrafts Die Release paper, (T322). Place this between the die and the paper when cutting and the paper will release easily! The third die I used is a real favourite, (Mini Christmas Foliage). I love that I can get nine little festive branches and leaves and three little dots in just one pass. The little dots were perfect for the centre of the Poinsettias! Christmas Wishes wall Display

Image
I must say I do love Christmas ornaments and it is well know that if someone asks me what I would love as a gift, I always say a Christmas ornament! I love decorating the tree. Each year I unwrap my treasure and happy memories of the person who gave it to me come flooding back. For me, as well as being my Christmas tree, it is also my memory tree! Although my three beautiful ornaments could stand alone as stunning gifts, I decided to do a wall display that I could take out each year and hang for some sparkling Christmas cheer! I started by selecting the papers for each window. On one of the scenes I used a Kaisercraft snowflake template and texture past, while the paste was still wet I sprinkled with glitter ….. after all it is Christmas! Once these were marked up and cut to size I painted the frame with Kaiser paint in white.  A few coats gave a lovely crisp finish. I then stuck the decorative papers cut earlier in position and stuck the frame down. Now the fun part!!...

Genteleman card

Hello!!   I used the ‘Grunge’ Template in my die cutting machine to emboss those gorgeous cogs! Once embossed, I gently rubbed ‘Bark’ inkpad across the raised emboss design to give it more definition. The black cogs were also cut on my die cutting machine using the new release ‘Cogs’ stamp and die set. If you want the technique for embossing with templates, check a video I did ten months ago. https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=vwR8xXUzb-I   Kaisercraft Products : Barber Shoppe Collection : PP1002 6 1/2″ Paper Pad | CT861 Collectables | FL579 Wooden Fourish Pack Gentleman | CD509 Card pack Sq Kraft | IP724 Ink Pad Bark | DD 932 Decorative Die & Stamp Set Cogs | IP 719 Ink Pad Black | T303 Foam Tape.
