I decided to do a mixed media background, they are fun to do, a wee bit messy and the good news is you don’t make any mistakes – anything goes! I die cut the wonderful ‘Mixed Media Circles’ Die (DD786), and popped it down on a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of white card. I used a palette knife to spread some texture paste on top. I then removed the die cut, (popped it aside for another project!), and waited for my texture paste to dry, (you could use a heat gun, but I had dinner to organise!). Once dry, I gently rubbed some Kaisercraft stamp pads on the design and  random stamped some words so they blended into the background. I then splattered with Kaisercraft paint – it got everywhere  but was surprisingly therapeutic lol!! At this stage I loved how it looked and stopped the messy stuff and assembled the card with papers and collectables from ‘High Tide’. This is what I call one of my ‘Everyday Cards’. It is a simpe sketch that I use regularly, I really like the texture of the torn and rolled layers of paper! You may have noticed I have not put a sentiment on this one. I often leave the sentiment off until I am ready to send my card; this enables me to select just the right saying! This card will be filed in my card stash box under my ‘feminine’ heading, ready and waiting until it is needed! Tip:  to get a nice white non iridescent spray, simply add some white Kaiser Paint to a spray bottle and shake! I have enjoyed playing with some of the new release dies this month, they can add so much to a layout! With the ‘Holly Circle’ die,  I sprayed my die cut and sprinkled on some glitter, fixing it with a fixative spray so the glitter stayed on the page and not me! I have used the Poinsettia die soooooooooo much!!! I love to curl the petals back with a skewer and layer them with foam tape atop each other, three layers looks fab! I love to glitter these too – after all, it’s Christmassy! Did you know you can cut two poinsettias at a time and don’t forget to use Kaisercrafts Die Release paper, (T322). Place this between the die and the paper when cutting and the paper will release easily! The third die I used is a real favourite, (Mini Christmas Foliage). I love that I can get nine little festive branches and leaves and three little dots in just one pass. The little dots were perfect for the centre of the Poinsettias! Oh Christmas Tree Hi papercrafters! I have been getting very festive and my Christmas cards are in full swing. Just loving the ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Frosted’ collections this month! Today I thought I would share my ‘Christmas Spirit Box’ with you –  well, that’s what mine will be, I will tell you all about it in my video! It’s what I call a triple drop down (or explosion) box and in the center is a grand Christmas Tree, just like you would find in a busy city center at Christmas.
